Training Opportunities

Community Emergency Response Teams
The Eugene CERT organization was formed in 2004 to train members of the local community in disaster preparedness, and to provide back-up and support for our emergency services.

CERT logoThe CERT program trains citizens in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

The Eugene CERT organization is coordinated through the City of Eugene's Emergency Information Center.  Click here for contact information and the latest updates about emergency preparedness in Eugene.

Incident Command System (ICS) Training

The Incident Command System provides standardized and proven management tools for responding to all emergencies regardless of size or complexity. ICS is the national standard for incident management and enables different departments, areas or jurisdictions to work together effectively in responding to an incident.
